Jesse Rodriguez is on the Board of Directors at Tekton Hospitality. He is responsible for advising the company’s senior leadership, with a focus on manufacturing, organizational structures, personal, and finance-related matters.
Rodriguez has more than 25 years of both finance and industry experience. As former Managing Director at Bank of America, Millenium Global, and SereInvest, he was involved in mergers and acquisitions and principal investing with an emphasis in companies and investments that were principally based in U.S. markets, but were trading and financing throughout the Americas and Asia. Most recently, Rodriguez was the Interim CEO for a graphite mining company.
Savedra and Rodriguez Collaborate
With a desire to combine Henry Savedra Jr.’s manufacturing-international sourcing expertise with Rodriguez’s finance-investment company building expertise, the two discussed going into business together for over 20 years. In the beginning of 2014, the two felt that they had each arrived in seasons in their lives in which launching Tekton Hospitality seemed like the right thing to do. So they teamed up and developed a business plan. “Henry has outstanding not just experience, but a network of suppliers… as well as customers, that are quite impressive,” Rodriguez said when asked about what drew him to the idea of Tekton Hospitality. “And my job effectively was to help pull that together, and mold it together into a business plan with which we could talk to people about and help launch the company.” Under his stewardship, Tekton Hospitality was fully funded by July 2015.
Outside of Work
Rodriguez thoroughly enjoys spending time with his family. He is the father of two daughters and two sons, and spends the majority of time outside of work taking them to and from their sporting events, and helping them develop their talents and skills.
Jesse also enjoys spending time with friends and family around a good meal.
His favorite literary genres are philosophy and church history; some of his favorite books include For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemmingway and Quo Vadis by Henryk Sienkiewicz.
Rodriguez also enjoys reflecting on how religion, politics, and culture coexist, and is one of the founders in his community of a group that puts on presentations for such topics.
Rodriguez graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Economics and Political Science and holds a MBA from Harvard.
