RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA - Tekton Hospitality is an approved vendor for Starwood Hotels and Resorts, and a preferred vendor for Starwood’s Four Points Guestrooms, Four Points Suites, and Aloft. Accompanied by a longstanding history with them from former business relationships, Henry Savedra Jr., President and CEO of Tekton Hospitality, and a group of Starwood lead designers met in April 2016 after Philip Erdoes, CEO and Founder of The New Traditionalist, reintroduced Savedra to them as producing hospitality for the New Traditionalist under his leadership at Tekton Hospitality. By June, Tekton Hospitality earned approved vendor status after a bidding, quoting, and building process, and manufactured its first order for the Four Points Guestrooms as jointly designed by The New Traditionalist and Starwood. By September, Tekton Hospitality became a preferred vendor for Four Points Suites after building pieces for the program that The New Traditionalist and Starwood additionally developed together. Listed as The New Traditionalist at Tekton Hospitality’s address, with Tekton Hospitality’s Vice President Stephanie Lopez as the head contact, its approved vendor status allows the company to produce for all of the Starwood brands, and its preferred vendor status lists the company on design specs amongst only a handpicked few.
On site, Tekton Hospitality has a standard Starwood showroom that is “the only to-scale full mock-up that we know of amidst our competitors,” Lopez said. “Size of the walls, ceiling height…wallpaper, paintings, similar floor, sink, toilet…we are the only vendors to have done [it].” With the possibility of the furniture appearing small compared to high factory ceilings and grand factory rooms, Savedra wants the customer to see their furniture in correct setting and scale. “We hope to do this for other corporations [too],” Lopez said.
Although Lopez foresees an increased demand with Starwood both pushing Tekton Hospitality to bring in more project management at its 118.6k sq. ft. Rancho Cucamonga, CA facility, along with its sister 80k sq. ft. Torrington, CT facility, to grow larger, “we hope...they can always come to us for different programs, pieces, and we can work side by side with them in designing and manufacturing [it all],” Lopez said. Starwood Hotels and Resorts operates the St. Regis, The Luxury Collection, W Hotels, Design Hotels, Sheraton, Westin, Le Meridian, Tribute Portfolio, Four Points, Aloft, Element, and Starwood Preferred Guest Hotels. Recently merging with Marriott International, the hotel company is now the world’s largest with 6,000 properties in more than 120 countries.
